Tuuletar is back! Their third album Maammo (Mother Earth) was released 30th January 2026. Maammo brings together the core elements of Tuuletar’s artistic world: primal energy and modern expression, Nordic traditions and global influences. The album forms the backbone of a new live production, but on stage the music expands into a physical, multi-layered experience that resonates beyond language and genre boundaries.

Tuuletar describes their new era as follows:
“Tuuletar’s music has always united history and the future, the home village and the wider world. Maammo is a tribute to building bridges, endangered nature, multiculturalism, and hope.”

Founded in 2012, Tuuletar is a contemporary folk music and vocal group that has captivated audiences and critics around the world. The band’s long career, marked by their acrobatic vocal performances, is filled with an impressive array of unique merits achievements. The band has over 8 million views on YouTube and has performed in 30 countries on five continents.

Tuuletar has toured the world from Chile, India, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan and Taiwan, and performed at the world’s biggest folk and world music festivals – all with a self-composed repertoire in Finnish.

The band’s music has also been featured in the trailer of the world’s most popular TV series Game of Thrones as well as in several Netflix productions (e.g. Monarca and Rain)). In Finland, the band has performed at the Finnish Presidential Palace and in a TV series Vain elämää (one of Finland’s most-watched television programs) and acted as a soloist with Student Union Singers, Vantaa Entertainment Orchestraand on the film score for Tale of the Sleeping Giants (Tunturin tarina).

The band’s debut album won an EMMA award in 2017 (Ethno Album of the Year) and was one of the most played albums of 2016 at the international World Music Charts radio list. In 2019, the band won the Internationalizer of the Year -award (Etnogaala) and was nominated for Finnish Music Publishers Award.
