Saura Booking Agency is a live music agency based in Helsinki and founded in 2014. Saura has grown to be one of Finland’s most prominent export agencies in the field of world music. We connect artists and international venues, taking care of the concert bookings and tour productions as well as international branding and promotion. Music connects people across borders, and at Saura Booking Agency we are dedicated to making this connection as strong and meaningful as possible. We also promote pop and folk artists to perform in Finland.
Johanna Sauramäki, the founder and CEO of Saura Booking Agency, works as an agent, manager and visual designer, guiding the company with a strong vision and extensive experience in the production of cultural events. Saura Booking Agency has excellent networks in Finland as well as internationally and we collaborate with European labels, presenters, associations and other agencies on regular basis.

Our operations are strongly grounded in our core values: respect for the environment, preservation of traditions, and equality across genders and generations. We believe in the diversity of the cultural field and we work to ensure that Fenno-Ugrian music and other Nordic traditions receive the place they deserve on the international stage. We want to create sustainable opportunities for independent artists and help them to grow globally.
What Saura means?
‘Saura’ is an archaic Finnish word that means right and real. Saura also means an old Finnish grain drying rack, where hay poles rest supported in a cross pattern. Saura has been more commonly used in Ostrobothnia and Lapland. In the Sami language, Saura means brave and courageous, while in Egyptian the word means rebellion and revolution.
There is a common thread in all of this: tradition, justice and change. At Saura Booking Agency, we believe that culture lives in time – it changes and evolves, but always respecting its roots. Our mission is to be part of this movement, support artists and advance music that matters.
