Armi Harmio is a Helsinki-based artist who creates melancholic indie schlager, writing songs about life’s troubles, love, dreams, and wonders. Harmio’s debut album, Surumielinen sateen kastelema (Melancholic and Rain-Soaked), was released in the spring of 2024.

“Surumielinen sateen kastelema is a work that encapsulates all the emotions, thoughts, and reflections that fit into the life of a twenty-something misfit. I wanted to create an album without love songs, but along the way, I realized that everything, really, is about love—or the lack of it. So I didn’t quite achieve that goal, as the entire album begins with the question, ‘What is love?'”
